A seven-day NSS Camp commenced at H M Sr. Sec. School from 9th January to 15th January 2025, with a spirit of community service, discipline, and patriotism among the volunteers. The opening ceremony held on 9th January 2025, with great enthusiasm, dedication and active participation from approximately eighty energetic NSS volunteers along with the esteemed guests, faculty members and students.
The programme began on an auspicious note with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ram Bahadur, an active member of Sanskriti ke Sarthi and the dedicated Principal of Vivekanand Public School. He was accompanied by the Director of the School, Mr. Gaurav Arora, Principal Ms. Sunita Yadav and Vice-Principal Ms. Neelam Sharma.The occasion was graced with their presence. The event was followed by Ganesh Vandana and Saraswati Vandana, seeking divine blessings for the success of the camp.The event was followed by the cultural performances including a vibrant Haryanvi folk dance that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Haryana along with the theme ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’.A Yoga Practice Session was also conducted, where the volunteers actively participated, understanding the significance of health, mindfulness and discipline in their lives. These sessions turned out to be the highlight of the event, setting an energetic and positive tone for the entire camp.The Chief Guest, Mr. Ram Bahadur, addressed the NSS volunteers with inspiring words, emphasizing the importance of selfless service, leadership and dedication. He encouraged the students to become responsible citizens and contribute to society in meaningful ways. His speech instilled a renewed sense of motivation among the volunteers, reinforcing the core values of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
The Vice-Principal, Ms. Neelam Sharma, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the NSS Unit, the school administration and the participants for their dedication.She also ensured that the NSS Unit of H M Sr.Sec.School will serve the nation with unflinching determination. The event was concluded with the soulful “Lakshya Song”, sung by all volunteers, echoing a strong sense of patriotism and unity. The atmosphere was filled with a spirit of service, dedication and national pride. To keep the participants energized, refreshments were distributed among all the NSS volunteers.
The first day of the NSS Camp successfully set the foundation for the upcoming activities, ensuring that the volunteers are ready to embark on a journey of learning, service and transformation over the next seven days. The day was truly a testament to the spirit of NSS motto – “Not Me, But You.”
